Programme Background

Bachelor of Arabic Language (Honours) is designed for the purpose of shaping, developing and producing graduates who are capable of holistically reasoning the knowledge of Turath, as the mastery of its application today requires knowledge in Arabic language and certain skills.

The programme was developed with the aim of introducing a curriculum design that combines basic methods in Arabic language and real applications in language skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing) with the current and future use based on reality, needs, changes and current demands as well as future challenges.

The programme also introduces a number of experiential-based modules or courses such as Academic Training, to give graduates the opportunity to get the feeling and experience the working environment before being in the job market in the future. In addition, other courses do include case studies to enable students to evaluate and apply appropriate methods in solving any problems.

Entry Requirements

1. Passed STPM or equivalent with minimum Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in 2 subjects/equivalent; OR
2. Passed STAM with minimum Grade Jayyid; OR
3. Passed Diploma (Level 4 MQF) or equivalent with minimum CGPA 2.00; OR
4. Passed Matriculation/ Foundation or equivalent with minimum Grade C CGPA 2.00; OR
5. *Passed DKM/DLKM/DVM in related field OR
6. Other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Government of Malaysia.

AND

Credit in Arabic Language at the SPM level/equivalent or achievement for that subject in STPM/STAM/equivalent or higher from the Credit at the SPM level.

English Language Competency Requirements for International Students(s):

Minimum score IELTS 5.0/ MUET Band 3.5 or equivalent.

Career Prospects

Educator, translator, writer, researcher, editor, journalism, broadcasting and media, administrative officer, tour guide, entrepreneur or other fields related to Arabic Language.
