Programme Background
The Bachelor of Islamic Finance (Honours) degree programme is designed to produce a generation equipped with financial knowledge based on Islamic shariah principles. Graduates in this field will gain insights, skills and expertise in the Islamic financial system consisting of three sub-areas namely Islamic banking and finance, risk and takaful management, as well as Islamic financial planning and management. Graduates will obtain understanding in Islamic finance in comparison to conventional, and will be able to tap into the level of Islamic Finance from the theoretical and practical aspects. The curriculum available in this programme is in accordance with the standards set by the Malaysian Islamic professional bodies in finance namely the Islamic Banking and Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM) and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). Graduates will also be awarded with two Qualifications Certificates from IBFIM, Associate Qualification in Islamic Finance (AQIF) and Intermediate Qualification in Islamic Finance (IQIF) (Banking).
