The Raja Permaisuri Bainun Mosque Management Department (formerly known as the Islamic Centre) was officially established in pursuant to a change in the organisational structure of the University. The restructuring occurred following several changes in responsibilities and roles in order to fulfil the then aspiration and goal of USAS to become a premier centre of knowledge
The Raja Permaisuri Bainun Mosque Management Department regulates three entities under its management:
- Raja Permaisuri Bainun Mosque;
- USAS Al-Quran Tahfiz Centre;
- Pre -KAFA and Az-Zarnuji KAFA.
On 26 July 2018 (13 Zulkaedah 1439 AH), His Royal Highness the Sultan of Perak Darul Ridzuan, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah Al-Maghfur-Lah, consented to officiate the Iinauguration of Raja Permaisuri Bainun Mosque. The Raja Permaisuri Bainun Mosque Management Department has several units under its purview:
- Human Capital Unit;
- Wakaf and Community Service Unit;
- Muslimat Affairs Unit;
- Promotion and Dissemination Unit;
- Mosque Maintenance Unit;
- Dakwah Unit;
- Friends of the Mosque Unit
- External Relations and Protocol Unit;
- Administration Unit
The department aims to build a new image and identity in pursuit of brand-new objectives as the pillar of dakwah, namely:
- Developing a guidance and education centre related to the fundamental knowledge of Islam as well as spiritual and physical development for the USAS community and the local communities.
- Mobilising religious and humanitarian programmes for the university community, local and international communities.
- Serving as a service and welfare centre for the university and local communities.
Among the annual programmes under the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Mosque Management Department are Kuliah Taffaquh Fiddin, Bicara Mufti, Bicara Tokoh Selebriti/Personaliti TV, Forum Perdana, ‘Ihya Ramadan, Malaysia #QuranHour, Mega Korban and Aqiqah Perdana, as well as Daily Maghrib lectures.
