Programme Background

The Bachelor of Counselling degree programme at USAS helps students realise their potential to become successful, effective individual and have successful careers. It is a programme that integrates specialisation in counselling knowledge, counselling skills, practicum and practical training as well as general education. Quality education programmes is provided via the latest and recognised curriculum, in line with the needs and development of the current society. In addition, the programme produces graduates who are knowledgeable in the field of counselling, with the ability to practice the counselling discipline in carrying out their work in various sectors of employment. The programme also prepares human capital with experience in development management through counselling approach, as well as providing graduates who can assist and carry out social responsibilities to the community.

Entry Requirements

1. Passed Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) or equivalent with at least Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in any two (2) subjects; OR
2. Passed Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with at least Grade Jayyid and passed in English, Mathematics, Science at the SPM level or equivalent; OR
3. Passed Diploma (Level 4 KKM) or equivalent with at least CGPA 2.00; OR
4. Passed Matriculation/ Foundation with at least CGPA 2.00; OR
5. *Passed DKM/DLKM/DVM in related field OR
6. Other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Government of Malaysia

Career Prospects

Psychology officer, counsellor, programme facilitator, social research officer, community development officer, counselling officer in Islamic department, consultant for development and motivational programmes or other related positions.
