Programme Background

Diploma in Information Technology is a 2 ½ years study programme, designed specifically to equip students with knowledge, skills and experience through integrated education in the field of information technology as well as value added in management, entrepreneurship, self-development, Arabic language and religious education. Each course developed in this programme is in accordance with the standards set by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

In this programme, students are exposed to problem solving and decision-making to deal with the industrial revolution 4.0 and meet the needs of the information technology industry.

Entry Requirements

1. Acquire SPM or equivalent with minimum credits in 3 subjects including Mathematics; or
2. Passed STPM or equivalent with minimum Grade C (CGPA 2.0) in any subjects and Credits in Mathematics at the SPM level/equivalent; or
3. Passed STAM with minimum Grade Maqbul and Credit in Mathematics at the SPM level or equivalent; or
4. *Passed SKM Level 3 (Level 3 MQF); or
5. Passed a recognized Certificate (Level 3 MQF) and Credit in Mathematics at the SPM level/equivalent; or
6. Acquire GCE/O-Level with at least credits in three (3) subjects including Mathematics or
7. Other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government.

Career Prospects

Upon completing the Diploma in Information Technology programme, graduates have several options:-

• Joining the workforce either in the private or government sector, and qualify to be subprofessionals such as computer technician, graphic designer, assistant programmer and entrepreneur;
• Furthering their studies in the Bachelor of Computer Science degree programme, enrolling in Year 2; or
• Continuing to obtain professional certificates such as CompTIA, CCNA and others.
