Programme Background

Diploma in Tahfiz Al-Quran Wa Al-Qiraat was established to produce to a generation of Muslims who could memorise 30 juzs in Al-Quran and understand the contents. Also, the programme aims to fulfill the current demands of huffaz, qurra’ dan du’at who are equipped with the ability and credibility to solve religious issues in society. The minimum study duration is three years (six semesters) and the maximum duration is four years (eight semesters).

Entry Requirements

1. Acquire SPM with minimum credits in 3 subjects or equivalent and passed in Arabic Language subject / one of the Islamic Studies subject; or
2. Passed a recognized Certificate (Level 3 MQF) or equivalent in Islamic Studies subject; or
3. *Passed SKM Level 3 (Level 3 MQF) in related field or
4. Other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government.

PASSED THE USAS REQUIRED INTERVIEW

Career Prospects

1. Tahfiz Al-Quran and Qiraat teachers in Tahfiz schools and institutes in Malaysia such as Interim Tahfiz teachers (Ministry of Education), Ulul Albab Tahfiz teachers (MRSM and Imtiyaz), Tahfiz Modul Albab (TMUA) teachers in full boarding schools, tahfiz teachers at the government-funded Religious schools (SABK) and so on.
2. Imam in mosques and surau under government, higher learning institutions or statutory bodies.
3. Eligible to apply for public sector jobs (S27 grade). An appropriate career path is to be Islamic Affairs Assistant.
