Prof. Dato’ Dr. Wan Sabri Bin Wan Yusof has been appointed as the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic and Student Affairs in Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah in 2012.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Economics (Islamic Economics) (Hons) from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 1987, before pursuing his study at the same university in the Master of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage (Specialised in Tafsir) in 1992. He also pursued his Master’s degree at Temple University, USA in the Master of Arts (Specialised in Comparative Religion) in 1995. Later on, he pursued his PhD at Temple University, USA, specialising in the Islamic Thought and Comparative Religion in 1997.

Prof. Dato’ Dr. Wan Sabri Bin Wan Yusof began his career as an Assistant Lecturer at the International Islamic University of Malaysia back in 1988 and then appointed to be IIUM Associate Professor in 2010. During his tenure with IIUM, he held various positions such as Head of Department of Usuluddin and Comparative Religion, Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences, and Deputy Dean of Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences.

Prof. Dato’ Dr. Wan Sabri Bin Wan Yusof was appointed as the Deputy Rector of Academic and Student Affairs, Darul Ridzuan Islamic College (KISDAR) in 2012 and was one of the key figures in the university development, until KISDAR was fully upgraded to a university status under the name of Sultan Azlan Shah University (USAS) in 2016.

He is also entrusted with positions in the public and private sectors, such as being a Board Member of educational institutions, Shariah Advisor and Consultant to Islamic banks and takaful corporations, as well as a member of the Fatwa Committee of the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council. He was also appointed as a member of the Waqf Management Committee, and as a researcher for Zakat Research under Majlis Agama Islam dan Adat Melayu Perak. Currently, he is also a part of the Perak Darul Ridzuan Tahfiz Education and Curriculum Committee, and plays a vital role in the development of tahfiz education in Perak.

Prof. Dato’ Dr. Wan Sabri Bin Wan Yusof was awarded with Perak Darul Ridzuan State Honor Award in conjunction with HRH Sultan of Perak’s 59th birthday, with Darjah Dato’ Paduka Mahkota Perak (D.P.M.P) (carrying the title of ‘Dato”) on November 27, 2015 at the Iskandariah Palace, Kuala Kangsar, Perak Darul Ridzuan.
