Programme Background

Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) is designed to produce credible accounting graduates and professionally recognised at the local and overseas levels. The curriculum available in the programme is in accordance with the standards set by professional accounting bodies in Malaysia, the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), which includes the curriculums available under the professional certificates of Chartered Institute of Accountants (CIMA) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). In the meantime, the programme also incorporates Islamic values and professionalism through the courses offered and activities implemented.

Entry Requirements

MUET Band 2; AND

1. Passed STPM or equivalent with minimum Grade C+ (CGPA 2.33) in 2 subjects and obtain Credit in Mathematics at the SPM level/equivalent; or
2. Passed STAM with minimum Grade Jayyid and obtain Credit in Mathematics at the SPM level; or 
3. Passsed Diploma (Level 4 MQF) or equivalent in accountancy or in related field with minimum CGPA 2.50; or 
4. Passed Matriculation/Foundation or equivalent with minimum CGPA 2.50 and obtain Credit in Mathematics at the SPM level/equivalent; or 
5.  *Passed Malaysia Vocasional Diploma (DVM) with  Credit in Bahasa Melayu 1104
6. Academic CGPA with at least 2.00;
7. Vocasional CGPA 2.67;
8. And all Competent Vocasional module; OR
9. Other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Government of Malaysia.

English Language Competency Requirements for International Students(s):
TOEFL score 550 OR IELTS score 5.5 or equivalent.

Note:Credit in Bahasa Melayu of the examination paper in July also can be accepted and a certificate should be presented.

Requirement credit in mathematics at the SPM level for candidates (i), (ii), and (iv) can be exempted if they have other qualifications that contain a Mathematics subject and their achievement is equivalent/ higher.

Equivalence of SVM with 3 credit SPM also takes into account passing the SPM History subjects.
